Mamie : "Qu'est ce que tu fais Chloé?"

Chloé : "Je regarde tes santons, j'aime la dame à la citrouille."

Mamie : "Au fait, je croyais que ta couleur préférée était le bleu."

Chloé : "Oui, j'adore le bleu."

Mamie : "Alors pourquoi tu as pris un savon vert?"

Chloé : "Parce qu'il n'y avait pas d'autres couleurs."

Grandma : "What are you doing Chloé?"
Chloe : "I'm looking at your santons, I like the woman with the pumpkin."
Grandma : "By the way, I thought your favourite was blue."
Chloe : "Yes, it is. I love blue." 
Grandma : "So why did you take a green soap?"
Chloe : "Because there weren't any other colours."

Lucie se demande quelle couleur elle va choisir.

Lucie is wondering what colour she's going to choose.

Mamie : "Dommage! Si tu m'avais demandé tu aurais pu en choisir un bleu, mais les autres vont probablement le prendre."

Chloé : "Oh, c'est pas juste."

Mamie : "La prochaine fois tu n'oublieras pas de demander avant de prendre quelque chose."

Chloé : "Non, mamie."

Grandma : "What a pity! If you had asked me you could have chosen a blue one, but the others will probably take it."

Chloe : "Oh, it isn't fair."

Grandma : "Next time you won't forget to ask before taking something;"

Chloe : "No, I won't." 

Mamie : "Fiona et Lucie, venez choisir un savon."

Grandma : "Fiona and Lucie, come and choose a soap."

En regardant le plat de fruits mamie vient de voir que quelqu'un s'est servi et a laissé une moitié de figue. Cela ne lui plait pas du tout.

Looking at the bowl of fruit grandma has just seen that someone helped herself and left half of a fig. This doesn't please her at all.

Mamie : "Nina, pourquoi as tu pris que la moitié d'une figue?"
Nina : "Mais mamie, j'ai pris une figue. J'aime trop les figues pour en manger que la moitié."
Mamie : "Alors qui l'a laissé?"

Grandma : "Nina, why have you  taken half of a fig?"
Nina : "But grandma, I took a fig. I love figs too much to take only half of it." 
Grandma : "So who has left it?" 

Chloé : "C'est pas moi. Et puis c'est pas grave."
Fiona : "Je crois que l'on sait qui a fait ça maintenant."
Chloé : "Pourquoi? J'ai rien dit."
Mamie : "Vraiment Chloé! Et puis tu sais bien qu'une fois ouverte la figue sèche."
Lucie : "Chloé elle écoute jamais."
Mamie : "Bon, ça suffit! Fiona joue à un jeu avec elles pendant que je vais à la cuisine."

Chloe : "It's not me. And it isn't serious."
Fiona : "I think we know now who did it."
Chloe : "Why? I said nothing." 
Grandma : "Chloe really! And you know perfectly well that once opened a fig dries." 
Lucie : "Chloe she never listens."
Grandma : "Well, that's enough! Fiona play a game with them while I'm going to the kitchen." 

On dirait que mamie a besoin de calme, pas toujours facile d'avoir tant de petites filles à la maison ...

It seems that grandma needs some peace, not always easy to have so many granddaughters at home ...
