Ma famille dans la maison bord de mer - My family in the seaside house

Il est temps de vous montrer l'un des murs du palier avec les photos de famille.

It is time to show you one of the walls of the landing with family photographs.

Tout a commencé avec ce cadre. Je ne savais pas quoi mettre dedans et puis j'ai eu l'idée d'une photo de famille. Comme j'avais du mal à en choisir une j'ai décidé d'en mettre plusieurs. Donc j'ai racheté des cadres chez Dentelles et Ribambelles (le magasin de Léa) et je les ai peints.

It all started with this frame. I did not know what to put in it and I got the idea of a family photo. Since it was difficult to choose one I decided to put several. So I bought new frames at Dentelles et Ribambelles (Léa's shop) and I painted them.

Un hommage à ma famille paternelle

J'ai passé beaucoup de vacances avec mes grand parents au bord de la mer. J'espère que ma soeur et mon frère me pardonneront de n'être sur aucune des photos.

A tribute to my  family on my father's side

 I spent a lot of holidays with my grandparents at the seaside. I hope my sister and my brother will forgive me for not being in any photos.

Une fois qu'elles étaient toutes sur le mur je n'avais toujours pas utilisé le premier cadre. Typique!! Finalement j'ai retrouvé une vielle photo que je voulais aussi avoir dans la maison.

Once they were all on the wall I still had not used the first frame. Typical!! In the end I found back an old photo that I also wanted to have in the house.

Et voilà! - And here it is!

Une fois que la photo était scannée j'ai pu garder que mon grand père.

Once the photo was scanned I was able to keep just my grandfather.

Comme vous le voyez l'amour de la mer est une longue histoire de famille.

As you can see the love for the sea is a long family story.

Sous les photos un meuble que j'avais depuis longtemps. J'ai enlevé le vernis. Dessus un bouquet de Drora, un plat d'Elisabeth Bettler (qui était avant dans la cuisine,), une bougie et sa boîte de Syreetas Miniatures.

Under the photos a dresser I had had for a long time.  I removed the varnish. On it a bouquet by Drora, a dish by Elisabeth Bettler (which was before in the kitchen), a candle and its box by Syreetas Miniatures.

La mouette baladeuse et la façade - The wandering seagull and the front of the house

Au bord de la mer il y a toujours des mouettes.

At the seaside there are always seagulls.

La mouette semble apprécier la maison.

The seagull seems to enjoy the house.

Mon compagnon a fait la boîte aux lettres. Maintenant la maison a un nom : Villa La mouette.

My companion made the letterbox. Now the house has got a name : Villa La mouette (the seagull).

Lucie et la galette des Rois - Bienvenue, Welcome

Bienvenue à tous les nouveaux membres

Welcome to all new members

La galette des Rois est chaude, maman va la poser sur la table.

The galette des Rois is hot, mummy will put it on the table.

 Nina est la première à arriver dans la cuisine. Bien sur, elle a tout de suite mis la couronne sur sa tête.

Nina is the first one to arrive in the kitchen. Of course, she immediately puts the crown on her head.

Mais Nina vient d'entrer la cuisine.

But Nina has just come into the kitchen.

Nina : "Tu n'as pas le droit de mettre la couronne."

La voix de Nina fait sursauter Lucie.

Nina : "You have no right to wear the crown."

Nina's voice gives Lucie a start.

Lucie : "Tu m'as fait peur, Nina."

 Nina : "Tu ne sais pas qui va trouver la fève."

Lucie : "You startled me, Nina."

Nina : "You don't know who is going to find the charm."

Lucie : "Elle sent bon la galette."

Lucie : "The galette smells good."

Nina : "Elle est à la frangipane. J'ai pas encore eu la fève, j'espère que je vais l'avoir cette fois. Donne moi la couronne!"
 Lucie : "Bon d'accord, ne t'énerve pas!" 

Nina : "It is filled with almond paste. I haven't got the charm yet, I hope I'll get it this time. Give me the crown!"
Lucie : "Well ok, take it easy!

Lucie : "Moi je l'ai eu plusieurs fois."
Nina : "Pas étonnant! Maman avait dû te donner exprès la part avec la fève."

Lucie : "I got it several times."
Nina : "No wonder! Mummy must have given you the slice with the charm on purpose."

Lucie : "C'est pas vrai. Tu dis ça parce que tu es jalouse."

Nina : "En plus, tu ouvres toujours ta part pour voir si tu as la fève et à cause de toi il n'y a pas de suspense."

Lucie : "C'est parce que je ne veux pas me casser une dent. Et puis après je mange tout."

Lucie : "It isn't true. You say that because you're jealous."

Nina : "Moreover, you always open your slice to see if you've got the charm and because of you there is no suspense."

Lucie : "It's because I don't want to break a tooth. And then I eat everything."

Nina : "Je vais mettre la couronne sur la galette."

Nina : "I'll put the crown on the galette."

Il y a bien qu'Adèle, le lapin de Nina, qui est calme.

Adèle, Nina's rabbit, is the only one to be quiet.

Nina : "Alors Lucie tu vas te mettre sous la table pour dire à qui maman doit donner les parts."
Lucie : "J'en ai marre, c'est toujours moi."

Nina : "So Lucie you're going to go under the table to tell mummy for whom the slices are."
 Lucie : "I'm fed up, it's always me."

Nina : "Parce que c'est toujours le plus jeune enfant qui le fait."
Lucie : "MAMAN et PAPA vous venez? J'ai faim. J'adore la galette."

Nina : "Because it's always the youngest child who does it."
Lucie : "MUMMY and DADDY are you coming? I'm hungry. I love galette

En France nous commençons à manger la galette des Rois à l'Epiphanie et pendant tout le mois de janvier. Donc les rois sont les Rois Mages. Dans la galette il y a une fève. La galette est vendue avec une couronne car la personne qui trouve la fève devient le roi ou la reine et doit choisir une reine ou un roi. 

In France we start eating the galette des Rois on Twelfth Night and during all January. Therefore the kings are the Wise Men. In the galette there is a charm. The galette is sold with a crown because the person who finds the charm becomes the king or the queen and must choose a queen or a king.

Fin de réveillon (fin) - The end of Christmas dinner (the end)

Lucie est maintenant dans le salon et elle découvre une boîte de truffes au chocolat.

Lucie is now in the living room and has just discovered a box of chocolate truffles.

Bien sur elle n'a pas pu s'empêcher de l'ouvrir tout de suite et le résultat n'est pas très joli ...

Of course she could not help opening it straight away and the result is not very nice ...

Elle se rend bien compte de ce qu'elle a fait, mais c'est trop tard.

She realizes what she has just done, but it is too late.

Alors elle commence à en manger.

So she starts eating some.

Mais attention, Nina arrive ...

But watch out, Nina is coming ...

Nina : "Qu'est ce que tu as fait Lucie? Maman va être furieuse."
Lucie : " Pourquoi? J'aime les truffes."

Nina : "What have you done Lucie? Mum will be furious."
Lucie : "Why? I love truffles."

Mamie : "Enfin un peu de calme!"

Grandma : "At last  a bit of calm!"

Nina : "Tu sais très bien qu'on devait attendre papa pour ouvrir la boîte."
Lucie : "Je vais voir mamie."

Nina : "You know very well that we had to wait for daddy to open the box."
Lucie : "I'm going to see grandma."

Lucie : "Mamie est ce que je peux avoir encore un champignon, s'il te plait?"
Mamie : "Non, il n'en reste qu'un et c'est pour ton père."
Lucie : "Mais il en restait deux."
Mamie : "Oui mais j'en ai mangé un, je suis gourmande."
Lucie : "Pourquoi tu es gourmande, mamie?"
Mamie : "Et toi?"

Lucie : "Grandma can I have another mushroom, please?"
Grandma : "No, you can't. There is only one left and it's for your father."
Lucie : "But there were two left."
Grandma : "Yes, there were. But I ate one, I've got a sweet tooth."
Lucie : "Grandma why have you got a sweet tooth?"
Grandma : "And what about you?"

Lucie trouve que ce n'est pas drôle et pourquoi à chaque fois on lui dit qu'il faut attendre son père.

Lucie thinks it isn't funny and why every time she is told that she has to wait for her father.

Bonne Année - Happy New Year

 Après un merveilleux réveillon de Noël, dans quelques heures nous allons recommencer ...

After a great Christmas dinner, in a few hours we will start again ...

 Mamie : "Alors les filles qu'est ce que nous allons nous souhaiter à minuit?"

Grandma : "Well girls, what are going to say at midnight?"

 Nina : "Bonne Année!"
Lucie : "Mais on a pas fini de raconter l'histoire du réveillon de Noël"
Mamie : "Nous le ferons en 2014."
Lucie : "Mais il faudra attendre longtemps."
Nina : "Non, cette nuit quand tu vas te coucher nous serons en 2014."

Nina : "Happy New Year!"
Lucie : "But we haven't finished telling the story of Christmas dinner."
Grandma : "We'll do it in 2014."
Lucie : "But it will be a long wait."
Nina : "No, it won't, tonight when you'll go to bed we'll be in 2014.
