Fiona : "Voilà le nid de mamie."
Nina : "Pour quoi mamie a un nid?"
Fiona : "Elle l'a trouvé par terre il y a longtemps. Il n'y avait pas d'oeufs dedans, alors elle l'a gardé pour le montrer à ses petits enfants."

Fiona : "Here is grandma's nest."
Nina : "Why has grandma got a nest?"
Fiona : "She found it on the ground a long time ago. There were no eggs in it, so she kept it to show it to her grandchildren."

Chloé : "Il est petit."

Lucie : "Je veux mieux le voir."

Fiona : "Je vais le poser sur la table." 

Chloe : "It is small."

Lucie : "I want to see it better."

Fiona : "I'm going to put it on the table."

 Lucie : "Je me demande comment les oiseaux font les nids."
Chloé : "C'est quoi cette cigale?"

Lucie : "I wonder how birds make nests."
Chloe :" What is it this cicada?"

Lucie : "Qu'est ce que t'as trouvé Chloé?"

Lucie : "What have you found Chloé?"

Quant à Nina elle a trouvé quelque chose à manger.

As far as Nina is concerned she has found something to eat."

Fiona réalisant que plus personne ne s'intéresse au nid va parler avec Lucie.

Fiona realizing that no one is interested in the nest anymore is going to chat with Nina.

Tout en parlant Nina mange sa figue.

While speaking Nina is eating her fig.

Lucie : "Chloé, montre moi ce que tu as trouvé."
Chloé : "C'est juste un savon, maintenant c'est mon savon."

Lucie : "Chloe, show me what you have found." 
Chloe : "It's only a soap, now it's my soap."

Lucie : "Mamie, Chloé a pris un savon cigale. S'il te plait, moi aussi j'en veux un."
Mamie : "J'en ai plusieurs, vous pouvez toutes en avoir un et même choisir votre couleur. Je vais les chercher."
Lucie : "Oh, merci mamie."

Lucie : "Grandma, Chloe has taken a cicada soap. Please, I  want one too." 
Grandma : "I've got several, you can all have one and even choose your colour. I'm going to get them."
Lucie : "Oh, thank you grandma."

Chloé, contente avec son savon, est intéressée par les santons de mamie.

Chloe, happy with her soap, is interested in grandma's santons." 

 Est ce que mamie ne dira rien à Chloé qui a pris le savon sans rien demander ...

Will grandma say nothing to Chloe who took the soap without asking ...

mes nouvelles miniatures - my new miniatures

Je me suis enfin occupée de ma maison à l'échelle 1/144. Je l'avais achetée il y a de nombreuses années.

At last I worked on my 1/144th scale house. I bought it many years ago.

Et voilà - And here it is

Pour les murs j'ai utilisé du papier pour trains électriques (merci Céline), pour le toit j'ai imprimé une image trouvée sur internet.

For the walls I used a paper for model trains (thank you Céline), for the roof I printed a picture found on internet.

J'ai trouvé les papiers peints sur le site Microjivvy.

I found the wallpapers on the website Microjivvy.

 Bon, pour les meubles je ne sais pas si je vais essayer d'en faire ou les acheter.

Well, concerning furniture I don't know if I'm going to try to make it ou buy it.

Les animaux ne sont plus intéressés par les filles.

The animals are no longer interested in the girls.

Chloé : "Il y a de la laine."

Chloé : "There is some wool."

Lucie : "Mais la laine c'est pas comme ça. Oh, il y a un nid, Nina vient voir!"

Lucie : "But wool doesn't look like this. Oh, there is a nest, Nina come and see!"

Lucie : "Il y a même une plume dedans."

Lucie : "There is even a feather in it."

Chloé : "N'importe quoi! Moi je sais que c'est de la laine. Hein que j'ai raison Fiona?"
Fiona : "Oui, un mouton a dû passer par là."

Chloé : "Rubbish! I know it's wool. I'm right, am I not Fiona?
Fiona : "Yes, you are. Sheep must have come this way."

Lucie : "Mais quand mamie tricote ce n'est pas comme ça."

Lucie : "But when grandma knits it isn't like that."

Fiona : "Tu demanderas à mamie de t'expliquer comment la laine sur un mouton devient une pelote."

Fiona : "You'll ask grandma to tell you how the wool on sheep becomes a ball."

Lucie : "D'accord!"
Nina : "Le nid est vraiment beau. Il n'y a pas d'oeufs, il doit être abandonné."

Lucie : "Ok!"
Nina : "The nest is really beautiful. There aren't any eggs, it must be deserted."

Fiona : "Mamie en a un à la maison, je sais où il est. Je vous le montrerai quand on rentrera à la maison."
Nina : " Allons à la maison!" 
Lucie : "Oh oui, je veux voir le nid de mamie."
Chloé : "Moi aussi."

Fiona : "Grandma has got one at home, I know where it is. I'll show it to you when we get home."
Nina : "Let's go home!"
Lucie : "Oh yes, I want to see grandma's nest."
Chloé : "Me too."

Un après-midi tranquille - A quiet afternoon

Les animaux sont contents au milieu des feuilles mortes.

The animals are happy among the dead leaves.

Tout d'un coup le chat ouvre un oeil, pas parce qu'il a senti la présence de l'oiseau mais parce qu'il a entendu les filles. C'est la fin de sa paisible sieste.

Suddenly the cat opens one  eye, not because he has felt the presence of the bird but because he heard the girls. It's the end of his peaceful nap.

Les animaux ne s'occupent pas des cousines, le chat fait semblant de dormir mais l'oiseau s'est envolé.

The animals don't mind the cousins, the cat pretends to sleep but the bird has flied away.

Lucie : "J'adore les petits poussins."

Nina :" Pourquoi petits? Les poussins sont toujours petits."

Lucie : "I love the little chicks."

Nina : "Why little? Chicks are always little."

Chloé : "Moi je préfère les moutons, mais il n'y en a pas."

Chloé : "I prefer sheep, but there aren't any."

 

Chloé : "Oh!, il y a l'oie qui vient vers moi."

Chloé : "Oh! The goose is coming towards me."

Lucie : "Pourquoi tu la regardes comme ça?"

Lucie : "Why are you looking at it like this?"

 

Fiona qui est la plus grande a la responsabilité des clés de mamie.
Fiona : "C'est vrai, on dirait que tu veux lui faire peur?" 

Fiona who is the eldest is responsible for grandma's keys.
Fiona : "It's right, it looks like you want to scare it."
 

Chloé : "Qu'est ce que tu veux l'oie? Moi je voulais voir des moutons."

Chloé : "What do you want goose? I wanted to see sheep."

Lucie : "Regarde, elle s'en va. Elle a eu plus peur que toi."

Lucie : "Look it's turning round. It was more afraid than you."

Chloé : "Je n'avais pas peur. Oh regardez ce que j'ai trouvé."

Chloé : "I wasn't afraid. Oh, look what I've found."

ce qui m'occupe - what keeps me busy

 Une broderie que j'ai commencé en juin. Avant de partir en vacances je n'en avais pas fait beaucoup.

A needlepoint that I started in June. Before going away on holiday I hadn't done much.

 Cela m'a pris du temps pour la reprendre, mais une fois l'avoir fait maintenant j'ai du mal à la laisser.

It took me time to work on it again, but once I did now it is difficult to leave it.

Depuis cette photo elle a encore bien avancé. Je prendrai une autre photo quand la robe sera finie.

Since I took this photo more progress can be seen. I will take another photo when the dress is completed.

C'est de la gaze de soie 28 ponts au cm et j'utilise des fils de soie.

It is 72 count silk gauze and I use silk threads.

La pêche aux crevettes - Shrimp fishing

Elles sont toutes à la plage, comme il fait chaud mamie a enlevé son gilet.

They are all on the beach, as it is warm grandma took off her cardigan.

Nina est revenue avec sa nouvelle pêche, alors Lucie a tout de suite ouvert le panier.

Nina has just come back with her new catch, so Lucie immediately opened the basket.

Lucie : "Oh! Il n'y a qu'une crevette."

Lucie : "Oh! There is only one shrimp."

Mamie : "Oui, mais elle va rejoindre les autres. Nina il faut continuer à pêcher si tu veux que l'on commence le déjeuner avec."

Grandma : "Yes, there is, but it will go with the others. Nina you have to go on fishing if you want us to start lunch with them."

Maintenant le panier est presque rempli, il est temps de rentrer à la maison.

Now the basket is almost full, it's time to go home.

Les filles vont prendre leur matériel de plage. Mais qui va porter le filet de pêche? ...

The girls are going to take their beach equipment. But who is going to carry the fishing net? ...

La pêche aux crevettes était mon activité favorite quand j'étais en vacances chez mes grand parents. 
Shrimp fishing was my favourite activity when I was on holiday at my grandparents'.
