Loïck : "Bonjour, Charles. Il y a un moment que je ne t'ai pas vu."

Grand-père : "Tu es rarement dans ton jardin quand je promène le chien."

Loïck : "Allez, viens qu'on discute un peu."

Grand-père : "D'accord, je ne suis pas pressé."

Loïck : "Hello, Charles. I haven't seen you for a while."

Granddad : "You're rarely in your garden when I walk the dog."

Loïck : "Come on, let's have a chat."

Granddad : "All right, I'm not in a hurry."

Grand-père : "Je ne savais pas que tu étais en train de déjeuner, tu manges bien tard."

Loïck : "Je suis rentré tard et Soizic a mis du temps à préparer les moules."

Grand-père : "Elle ne mange pas avec toi ?"

Loïck : "Non, elle avait déjà mangé, comme ça je suis bien tranquille et nous pouvons parler sans être dérangés."

Granddad : "I didn't know you were having lunch, you're eating rather late."

Loïck : "I came home late and Soizic took her time to cook the musssels."

Granddad : "Isn't she eating with you?"

Loïck : "No, she'd already eaten, that way I'm at peace and we can talk without being disturbed."

Grand-père : "Tu es un peu dur avec elle. Tu bois du Coca avec les moules maintenant ?"

Loïck : "Et oui, mais pas tout le temps. Tu disais que je suis dur avec Soizic, mais si je te dis qu'elle ne veut pas que je boive trop de vin, tu ne trouves pas qu'elle exagère. Alors je bois du coca pour l'agacer."

Grand-père : "Toi et Soizic, c'est quelque chose, vous ne changerez jamais."

Loïck : "Trêve de plaisanterie, tu ne veux pas manger des moules avec moi ?"

Granddad : "You're a bit hard on her. Are you drinking coke with your mussels now?"

Loïck : "Yes, but not all the time. You said that I'm hard on Soizic, but if I tell you she doesn't want me to drink too much wine, don't you think she's overreacting. So I drink Coke to annoy her."

Granddad : "You and Soizic, it's quite something, you'll never change."

Loïck : "Joking apart, don't you want to eat mussels with me?"

Grand-père : "Non merci, j'ai déjà mangé."

Loïck : "Tu es sûr ? Regarde, il y en a encore plein et tu sais que les moules de Soizic sont exceptionnelles et ses frites aussi."

Grand-père : "Ah, là tu es capable de reconnaître une de ses qualités. Mais non, merci. Tu sais qu'avec Solange les repas ne sont pas toujours vraiment légers."

Loïck : "Et tu ne vas pas t'en plaindre, je te connais, tu aimes bien manger."

Granddad : "No, thank you, I've already eaten."

Loïck : "Are you sure? Look, there's still plenty left and you know that Soizic's mussels are exceptional and her chips too."

Granddad : "Ah, now you can recognize one of her qualities. But no, thank you. you know that with Solange meals aren't always really light." 

Loïck : "And you won't complain about it, I know you, you love your food."

Grand-père : "Ah, ah, ah ! C'est bien pour ça que je promène le chien, pour digérer."

Loïck : "Ah, ah, ah !"

Colin : "Il y a des gens qui ont l'air de bien s'amuser."

Calinou : "Wouah, wouah, wouah."

Colin : "J'entends un chien, je me demande qui est là."

Granddad : "Ah, ah, ah ! That's exactly why I walk the dog, to digest."

Loïck : Ah, ah, ah !"

Colin : "Some people seem to be having a good time."

Calinou : "Woof, woof, woof."

Colin : "I can hear a dog, I wonder who's there."

 

Grand-père : "Tiens, voilà le petit Colin. Qu'est ce que tu fais là ?"

Loïck : "Il a dû sentir les moules frites. Ah, ah !"

Colin : "Je ramasse des coquillages. Je vous ai entendu rire et aussi Calinou."

Loïck : "Tu peux ouvrir la barrière. Tu veux goûter les moules ?"

Granddad : "Look, here's little Colin. What are you doing here?"

Loïck : "He must have smelt the mussels and chips. Ah, ah!"

Colin : "I'm collecting shells. I heard you laughing and Cuddly too."

Loïck : "You can open the gate. Would you like some mussels?"

Colin : "Non merci, j'aime pas trop les moules, je préfère les crevettes."

Loïck : "Voilà autre chose, il aime pas trop les moules. Ben, personne ne veut de mes moules."

Grand-père : "Ne le dis pas à Soizic, elle pourrait le prendre mal. Colin, qu'est ce que tu vas faire pendant les vacances ?"

Colin : "Je voudrais bien faire du bateau."

Colin : "No, thank you, I don't really fancy mussels, I prefer prawns."

Loïck : "That's all we need!; he doesn't fancy mussels. Well, nobody seems to want my mussels."

Granddad : "Don't tell Soizic, she might take it badly. Colin, what are you going to do during the holiday?"

Colin : "I'd like to go sailing."

Loïck : "Tu ne voudrais pas plutôt aller pêcher des moules avec moi ? Ah, ah, ah"

Colin : "Pourquoi faire ? Je ne les mangerai pas."

Grand-père : "Tu pourrais les donner à Loïck ou à moi."

Colin : "Calinou, ils se moquent de moi."

Grand-père : "On te taquine et tu connais l'humour de Loïck."

Loïck : "Wouldn't you rather go fishing for mussels with me? Ah, ah, ah!"

Colin : "What for? I'm not going to eat them."

Granddad : "You could give them to Loïck or me."

Colin : "Cuddly, they're making fun of me."

Granddad : "We're just teasing you and you know Loïck's sense of humour."

Colin : " Je sais et je m'en fiche. Je vais continuer à chercher des coquillages."

Grand-père : " Il faut que je rentre, j'y vais Loïck. Bon appétit !"

Colin : "Je vais vous accompagner, j'aime bien Calinou."

Loïck : "Au revoir Charles et à bientôt pour manger des moules avec moi. Au revoir Colin et si tu veux des crevettes vient me voir."

Colin : "D'accord et merci Loïck, mais je peux les pêcher moi même. Et je vous en apporterai."

Loïck : "Il n'en rate pas une ce petit bonhomme."

Colin : "I know and I don't care. I'm going to carry on looking for shells."

Granddad : "I've got to go home, I'm off, Loïck. Enjoy your mussels!"

Colin : "I'll come with you, I quite like Cuddly."

Loïck : "Bye, Charles and see you soon to eat mussels with me. Bye, Colin and if you want some prawns come and see me."

Colin : "Ok and thank you Loïck, but I can fish for them myself. And I'll bring you some."

Loïck : "That little lad's always putting his foot in it."

Les cadeaux de Pâques - The Easter presents

Mamie : "Lucie, tu vas rester avec Quentin. "

Lucie : "Tu vas acheter quoi ?"

Mamie : "Rien, je vais commander les chocolats de Pâques."

Lucie : "Qu'est ce que tu vas commander pour moi ?"

Mamie : "Ce sera une surprise."

 

Grandma : "Lucie, you'll stay with Quentin."

Lucie : "What are you going to buy?"

Grandma : "Nothing, I'm going to order the Easter chocolates."

Lucie : "What are you going to order for me?"

Mamie : "It will be a surprise."

Après la réponse de Mamie Lucie se demande bien ce qu'elle aura comme chocolat de Pâques. Plutôt que de rester à côté de Quentin elle préfère regarder la vitrine et essayer de deviner ce que Mamie va choisir pour elle.

After Grandma's reply Lucie wonders what Easter chocolate she'll get. Instead of staying next to Quentin she prefers to look at the shop window and try to guess what Grandma will choose for her.

Lucie dit à Quentin qu'elle aimerait bien avoir la coquille St Jacques car il y a des petits chocolats à l'intérieur, comme si Quentin était intéressé. Puis elle se met à rêver à son futur cadeau de Pâques quand tout d'un coup elle entend "Coucou Lucie." 

Lucie tells Quentin that she would love to get the scallop shell because there are some small chocolates inside, as if Quentin were interested. Then she starts dreaming about her future Easter present when suddenly she hears "Hello Lucie".

Lucie : "Ah, c'est toi. Coucou Pauline. Tu es toute seule ?"

Pauline : "Non, Maman est encore à l'intérieur. Je suis sortie parce que je t'ai vue."

Lucie : "Vous avez déjà acheté ton cadeau de Pâques."

Pauline : "Non, c'est le cadeau pour la maîtresse, je voulais te le montrer. Mon cadeau sera une surprise."

Lucie : "Pour nous aussi. Mamie va les commander, mais je voudrais la coquille St Jacques que j'ai vu dans la vitrine."

Lucie : "Oh, it's you. Hello Pauline. Are you on your own?"

Pauline : "No, I'm not. Mum's still inside. I came out because I saw you."

Lucie : "You've already bought your Easter present."

Pauline : "No, we didn't. It's the present for the teacher, I wanted to show it to you. My present will be a surprise."

Lucie : "For us too. Grandma's going to order them, but I'd love the scallop shell I saw in the shop window."

Pauline : "Je ne crois pas que tu l'auras car ta Mamie disait à Maman qu'elle allait commander des lapins."

Lucie : "Oh, vraiment ? Tiens, voilà Colin."

Pauline : "Oui, je sais. Je l'ai vu à l'intérieur."

Lucie : "Je n'ai pas le temps de lui parler. Il faut que j'aille dire à Mamie ce que je veux à la place d'un lapin. Tu peux surveiller Quentin, s'il te plait ?"

Pauline : "Oui, vas-y je t'attends. Dépêche à toi avant qu'elle passe sa commande."

Pauline : "I don't think you'll get it beacause your Grandma told Mum that she was going to order some bunnies."

Lucie : "Oh, really? Look, here comes Colin."

Pauline : "Yes, I know. I saw him inside."

Lucie : "I don't have time to talk to him. I need to go and tell Grandma what  I want instead of a bunny. Can you watch Quentin, please?"

Pauline : "Yes, go ahead, I'll wait for you. Hurry up before she places her order."

Colin : "Pourquoi Lucie ne m'a pas parlé ?"

Pauline : "Parce qu'elle veut dire à sa Mamie ce qu'elle veut pour Pâques. Elle revient."

Colin : "Ah, je croyais qu'elle était fâchée avec moi et je ne comprenais pas pourquoi."

Pauline : "Oh, la maîtresse arrive."

Colin : "Vite, cache ton cadeau."

Pauline : "Because she wants to tell her Grandma what she wants for Easter. She'll be back."

Colin : "Ah, I thought she was angry with me and I couldn't understand why."

Marie Crayon : "Bonjour les enfants."

Marie Crayon : "Qui peut me dire quelle est la date aujourd'hui ? Oui, Nina."

Nina : "Mardi 6 janvier."

Marie Crayon : "Très bien. Et qu'est ce que l'on fête aujourd'hui ? Pauline."

Pauline : "l'Épiphanie."

Marie Crayon : "Oui, c'est ça."

Marie Pen : "Who can tell me what the date is today? Yes, Nina."

Nina : "Tuesday, 6th January."

Marie Pen : "Very good. And what are we celebrating today? Pauline."

Pauline : "Epiphany."

Marie Pen : "Yes, that's right."

Marie Crayon : "Donc que se passe-t-il le jour de l'Epiphanie ? Lucie."

Lucie : "Les rois mages vont voir Jésus."

Marie Crayon : "Très bien. Oui, Colin ?"

Colin : "Et on mange une galette."

Marie Crayon : "Tu as raison. C'est pourquoi nous allons en partager une."

Marie Pen : "So what happens on Epiphany? Lucie."

Lucie : "The three kings visit Jesus."

Marie Pen : "Very good. Yes, Colin?"

Colin : "And we eat an Epiphany cake."

Marie Pen : "You're right. That's why we're going to share one."

Marie Crayon : "Dépêchez vous de finir votre galette et venez poser votre assiette sur le bureau. Mais qui n'a pas fini sa galette ? Quelqu'un qui voulait voir si il ou elle avait la fève et ne l'avait pas. Qui a eu une fève ?"

Pauline : "C'est moi. J'arrive."

Marie Crayon : "Bravo Pauline."

Marie Pen : "Hurry up to finish your cake and come and put your plate on the desk. But who hasn't finished their cake? Someone who wanted to see if he or she had the charm and didn't. Who has got a charm?"

Pauline : "It's me. I'm coming."

Marie Crayon : "Well done Pauline."

Marie Crayon : "Pauline est la reine. Il y a une deuxième fève et couronne. Qui sera l'autre roi ou la reine ?"

Nina : "Ce n'est pas moi, mais elle était bonne la galette. Tu as de la chance Pauline."

Pauline : "Merci Nina."

Nina : "Et la couronne te va bien."

Marie Pen : "Pauline is the queen. There is a second charm and crown. Who will be the other king or queen?

Nina : "It isn't me, but the cake was delicious. You're lucky Pauline."

Pauline : "Thank you Nina."

Nina : "And the crown suits you well."

Nina : "Colin, c'est toi qui n'a pas fini ta galette ?"

Colin : "Non, j'aime trop la galette.

Nina : "As tu eu la deuxième fève ? Tu ne l'as pas cachée ?

Colin : "Pourquoi je l'aurais cachée ? Tu rigoles ? J'avais trop envie d'avoir la couronne, comme ça on aurait pu jouer au roi et aux chevaliers."

Nina : "Colin, is that you who didn't finish your cake?"

Colin : "No, I love the cake too much."

Nina : "Did you get the second charm? You didn't hide it, did you?"

Colin : "Why would I have hidden it? Are you kidding? I really wanted to have the crown so we could play king and knights."

Pauline : "Marie, j'ai posé la fève sur le bureau. Est ce que je pourrais, s'il te plaît, la reprendre plus tard ? Je voudrais la garder pour la montrer à mes parents."

Marie Crayon : "Bien sûr. avant tu la montreras à tout le monde."

Pauline : "Je suis drôlement contente de l'avoir eue. A la maison dimanche on avait mangé une galette mais c'est maman qui avait eu la fève."

Pauline : "I put the charm on the desk. Could I, please, have it back afterwards? I'd like to keep it to show my parents."

Marie Pen : "Of course, before you'll show it to everyone."

Pauline : "I'm really happy I got it. At home on Sunday we ate an Epiphany cake but mum got the charm."

Marie Crayon : "Nous attendons toujours la deuxième fève. J'espère que personne ne l'a avalée."

Pauline : "Cela serait dommage. Tu sais, Marie, un jour ma grand-mère s'est cassée une dent à cause de la fève."

Marie Crayon : "C'est vrai que ça arrive, ta pauvre grand-mère. Qui n'a pas encore rapporté son assiette ?"

Marie Pen : "We're still waiting for the second charm. I hope no one swallowed it."

Pauline : "That would be a shame. You know, Marie, one day my grandmother broke a tooth because of the charm."

Marie Pen : "It's true that can happen, your poor grandma. Who hasn't brought back their plate?"

Chloé : "C'est moi, j'arrive."

Lucie : "Qu'est ce que tu as, Louise ?"

Louise : "Je n'ai pas eu la fève."

Lucie : "Moi non plus et ce n'est pas grave. Tu mangeras d'autres galettes."

Chloé : "It's me, I'm coming."

Lucie : "What's wrong, Louise?"

Louise : "I didn't get the charm."

Lucie : "Neither did I and it doesn't matter. You'll eat other cakes."

Louise : "Peut-être, mais j'ai pas encore eu la fève et je l'aurai jamais."

Lucie : "Pourquoi tu dis ça? Tu n'en sais rien."

Louise : "En plus je suis sûre que c'est Chloé qui a eu la fève."

Lucie : "Mais elle ne l'a pas dit."

Louise : "Tu vas voir, je pense qu'elle l'a cachée."

Louise : "Maybe, but I haven't had the charm yet and I never will."

Lucie : "Why do you say that? You don't know."

Louise : "Besides, I'm sure it's Chloé who got it."

Lucie : "But she didn't say it."

Louise : "You'll see, I think she hid it."

Marie Crayon : "Chloé, tu en as mis du temps à rapporter ton assiette. As tu eu la fève ?"

Chloé : "Non. Tiens, Marie, mon assiette."

Marie Crayon : "C'est incroyable, si les autres ne l'ont pas eu ça doit être toi. Où est elle cette fève ?"

Chloé : "Oui, je l'ai eu et je l'ai mise dans ma trousse."

Marie Crayon : "C'est bon, je n'insiste pas plus. Je vais te donner la couronne."

Marie Pen : "Chloé, you took your time to bring back your plate. Did you get the charm?"

Chloé : "No, I didn't. Here, Marie, my plate."

Marie Pen : "Unbelievable, if the others didn't get it must be you. Where is that charm?"

Chloé : "Yes, I got it and I put it in my pencil case."

Marie Pen : "All right, I won't insist any more. I'll give you the crown."

 

Pauline : "Pourquoi tu ne mets pas la couronne sur ta tête ?"

Chloé : "J'ai pas envie d'être une reine et de devoir choisir un roi."

Marie Crayon : "Chloé, je n'ai jamais dit qu'il fallait choisir son roi ou sa reine. Ah, c'est pour ça que tu ne voulais pas dire que tu avais la fève."

Chloé : "Oui."

Pauline : "Alors maintenant tu peux nous montrer ta fève et moi je vais montrer la mienne."

Chloé : "D'accord et je vais mettre la couronne."

Pauline : "Why don't you put the crown on your head?"

Chloé : "I don't want to be a queen and have to choose a king."

Marie Crayon : "Chloé, I never said you had to choose a king or a queen. Ah, that's why you didn't want to say you had the charm."

chloé : "Yes."

Pauline : "So now you can show us your charm and I'll show mine."

Chloé : "Ok and I'll wear the crown."

Le bonnet du Père Noël - Father Christmas hat

 

Cette année Mamie et Grand-père sont chez Nina et Lucie pour le réveillon de la Saint- Sylvestre.  Mamie a bien compris que ses enfants voulaient être tranquilles pour préparer le repas et qu'elle devait s'occuper de ses petits-enfants. Donc quoi de mieux que de les emmener au marché de Noël avant qu'il ne ferme.

This year  Grandma and Granddad are staying with Nina and Lucie for New Year's Eve. Grandma understood that her children wanted some peace and quiet to prepare the meal and that she had to look after her grandchildren. So what better than to take them to the Christmas market before it closes 

Tiens mais qui est aussi là, c'est Colin avec un bonnet de Père Noël.

Nina : "Lucie, pourquoi tu regardes Colin comme ça ?"

Lucie : "Ce n'est pas lui que je regarde, c'est son bonnet de Père Noël, j'en veux un."

Colin : "Tu n'as qu'à en acheter un comme je viens de le faire. Regarde ils en vendent."

Nina : "Lucie, why are you looking at Colin like that?"

Lucie : "I'm not looking at him, it's his Father Christmas hat, I want one."

Colin : "Just buy one as I did. Look they're selling them."

Lucie : "Mamie, Mamie tu m'achètes un bonnet de Père Noël, s'il te plaît ?"

Mamie : "Mais Noël est passé et puis on avait dit que l'on n'achèterait rien."

Lucie : "Mais Colin il en a un. Mamie, s'il te plaît."

Mamie : "Ah, pourquoi pas, si ça te fait vraiment plaisir."

Lucie : "Oh, merci Mamie."

Lucie : "Grandma, Grandma, will you buy me a Father Christmas hat, please?"

Grandma : "But Christmas is over and we said we wouldnt buy anything."

Lucie : "But Colin's got one.  Grandma, please."

Grandma : "Ah, why not, if it really makes you happy."

Lucie : "Oh, thank you Grandma."

Mamie : "Bonjour, on voudrait voir vos bonnets de Noël pour la petite, s'il vous plaît."

Vendeuse : "Je suis désolée, il ne reste plus que des grandes tailles. Je viens de vendre le dernier."

Lucie : "Oh, non. C'est trop triste. J'en voulais vraiment un."

Nina : "Tu as entendu Colin, tu as dû acheter le dernier."

Colin : "J'ai eu de la chance, mais pauvre Lucie."

Grandma : "Hello, we'd like to see your Father Christmas hats for the little one, please."

Saleswoman : "I'm sorry, there are only big sizes left. I've just sold the last one."

Lucie : "Oh, no. It's too sad. I really wanted one."

Nina : "You heard Colin, you must have bought the last one."

Colin : "I was lucky, but poor Lucie."

Nina : "Tu as raison. Mais si elle ne t'avait pas vu avec ton bonnet elle n'y aurait sans doute pas pensé."

Colin :" Tu es dure avec ta sœur." 

Nina : "Et pourquoi tu as un cadeau? C'est pour qui ?"

Colin : "Pour moi, avec l'argent que ma tante m'a donné."

Nina : "You're right. but if she hadn't seen you with your hat she probably wouldn't have thought of it."

Colin : "You're being hard on your sister."

Nina : "And why have you got a present? Who's it for?"

Colin : "For me, with the money my aunt gave me."

  

Mamie : "Je comprends que tu sois déçue Lucie, mais il n'y en a plus, on n'y peut rien, c'est comme ça."

Vendeuse : "Noël est passé et c'est le dernier jour du marché."

Lucie : "C'est trop bête, on aurait dû venir plus tôt."

Mamie : "Lucie ce n'est pas grave,  je t'en achèterai un l'année prochaine. A la place je vais prendre un sachet de chocolats à partager avec Nina et Quentin."

Lucie : "Merci Mamie. Je prendrai celui avec l'image du Père Noël."

Grandma : "I understand that you're disappointed Lucie, but there aren't any left, we can't do anything about it, that's how it is."

Saleswoman : "Christmas is over and it's the last day of the market."

Lucie : "That's too bad, wre should have come earlier."

Grandma : "Lucie that's ok, I'll buy you one next year. Instead I'll take a bag of chocolates to share with Nina and Quentin."

Lucie : "Thank you Grandma. I'll take the one with the picture of Father Christmas."

Nina : "Colin ne dit pas à Lucie que c'est toi qui a acheté le dernier bonnet de Père Noël."

Lucie : "Qu'est ce que tu dis à Colin ?"

Nina : "Que c'est bizarre de demander un paquet cadeau alors que le cadeau est pour lui."

Lucie : "Moi aussi j'aime ouvrir les paquets cadeaux. Mamie on rentre ?"

Mamie : "Oui, on y va. Au revoir Colin."

Colin : "Au revoir et Bonne année."

Nina : "Colin don' tell Lucie that you bought the last Father Christmas hat."

Lucie : "What are you saying to Colin?"

Nina : "That's it's strange to have asked for the present to be wrapped as it is for him."

Lucie : "I also love opening presents. Grandma, shall we go home?"

Grandma : "Yes, let's go. Goodbye Colin."

Colin : "Goodbye and Happy New Year."

 

Nina : "Quentin, tiens bien le sachet et ne perds pas les chocolats. Merci Mamie."

Mamie : "Ta sœur était tellement triste, il fallait bien quelque chose à la place."

Nina : "Mamie, tu sais que c'est Colin qui a acheté le dernier bonnet de Noël."

Mamie : "Ah bon ? J'espère qu'il n'est pas en train de lui dire."

Nina :" Ne t'inquiète pas, je l'ai prévenu."

Nina : "Quentin, hold on to the bag and don't lose the chocolates. Thank you Grandma."

Grandma : "Your sister was so sad, something was needed instead."

Nina : "Grandma, you know that it was Colin who bought the last Father Christmas hat."

Grandma : "Did he? I hope he isn't telling her."

Nina : "Don't worry, I warned him."

Nina : "Je prendrai le chocolat avec le Père Noël."

Mamie : "Non, c'est celui que ta sœur veut."

Nina : "Elle a déjà choisi, ce n'est pas juste."

Mamie : "Ce n'est pas le moment de faire des histoires."

Nina : "D'accord Mamie. L'important c'est le chocolat pas l'image, même si j'aurais préféré celle avec le Père Noël."

Mamie : "Qu'est ce que tu fais Lucie ? Viens, on rentre."

Nina : "I'll take the chocolate with Father Christmas."

Grandma : "No, you won't. It's the one your sister wants."

Nina : "She's already chosen, that's not fair."

Grandma : "This not the time to make a fuss."

Nina : "Ok, Grandma. The important thing is the chocolate not the picture, even though I would have preferred the one with Father Christmas."

Grandma : "What are you doing Lucie? Come on, let's go home."

le quotidien de Loïck - Loïck's daily life

Comme presque tous les jours Loïck vient de rentrer de la pêche. Il se dit que son travail n'est pas fini, il doit maintenant vider son filet. La routine est parfois lassante car ce qu'il préfère dans la pêche est être seul en mer.

Like almost every day Loïck has just come back from fishing. He tells himself that his work isn't done yet, he now has to empty his net. The routine can sometimes be tiresome, because what he likes most about fishing is being alone at sea.

Les poissons sont triés, alors les mouettes arrivent. Plein de bonnes choses attirantes pour elles. Loïck doit se dépêcher de mettre ses cageots en sécurité. Ah, ces mouettes qui ne le laissent pas tranquille, mais ils les aiment bien quand même, et que serait la mer sans les mouettes ? 

The fish have been sorted out, so the seagulls arrive. Plenty of  tasty things to attract  them. Loïck has to hurry to put his crates in a safe place. Ah, those seagulls that won't leave him alone, but he likes them anyway, and what would the sea be without seagulls?

Loïck aimerait bien savoir ce que cette mouette est en train de dire. Elle appelle probablement ses amies, comme s'il n'y avait déjà pas assez de mouettes autour de lui. Il lui dit de ne pas oser prendre quelque chose dans son cageot.

Loïck would like to know what this seagull is saying. It is probably calling its friends, as if there were not enough seagulls around him already. He tells it not to dare take anything from his crate.

Loïck espère qu'il va vendre ses poissons. S'il en reste un ou deux sa femme les cuisinera, mais s'il en rapporte plus à la maison elle rouspètera comme d'habitude. Il trouve que parfois elle exagère, elle pourrait être contente d'avoir du poisson gratuit, mais il reconnait que ce serait mieux de vendre tous ses poissons. 

Loïck hopes that he will sell his fish. If there is one or two left his wife will cook them, but if he brings more home she will grumble. He thinks she sometimes exaggerates, she could be happy to have free fish, but he admits it would be better to sell all his fish.

 

Comme souvent Loïck pense qu'il prendrait bien sa retraite, l'âge se fait sentir de plus en plus, mais que ferait il à la maison toute la journée ? Et puis il aime aller en mer et s'occuper de son bateau. Bien sûr on peut être en mer sans pêcher néanmoins ce ne serait pas pareil.

As often Loïck thinks he would like to retire, as he is feeling his age more and more, but what would he do at home all day? And then he loves going out to sea and looking after his boat. Of course, you can be at sea without fishing neverthesess that wouldn't be the same.

Pendant que Loïck est parti ranger son premier cageot une mouette peut maintenant inspecter le filet. Les mouettes sont toujours à la recherche de nourriture, sans s'occuper de savoir à qui c'est, tout est bon à prendre.

While Loïck has gone to put away his first crate a seagull can now inspect the net. Seagulls are always looking for food, without caring whose it is, anything goes.

La grosse mouette demande à sa congénère si elle voit quelque chose d'intéressant dans le filet. Malheureusement, il n'y a plus rien. Alors toutes les deux espèrent que quelqu'un aura laissé quelque chose sur la plage, même si c'est beaucoup plus rare maintenant que des poubelles ont été installées.

The big seagull asks its fellow seagull if it sees anything interesting in the net. Unfortunately, there is nothing left. so both of them hope that someone will have left something on the beach, even though this is much rarer now that litter bins have been installed.

Alors que Loïck revient pour nettoyer et plier son filet les mouettes se sont envolées. Il commence à être fatigué, vivement un bon repas et un peu de repos à la maison. Et demain, s'il n'y a pas de tempête, la routine sera la même qu'aujourd'hui.

As Loïck is back to clean and fold his net the seagulls have flown away. He is starting to get tired and is looking forward to a good meal and some rest at home. And tomorrow if it isn't stormy the routine will be the same as today.
