Loïck : "Bonjour, Charles. Il y a un moment que je ne t'ai pas vu."

Grand-père : "Tu es rarement dans ton jardin quand je promène le chien."

Loïck : "Allez, viens qu'on discute un peu."

Grand-père : "D'accord, je ne suis pas pressé."

Loïck : "Hello, Charles. I haven't seen you for a while."

Granddad : "You're rarely in your garden when I walk the dog."

Loïck : "Come on, let's have a chat."

Granddad : "All right, I'm not in a hurry."

Grand-père : "Je ne savais pas que tu étais en train de déjeuner, tu manges bien tard."

Loïck : "Je suis rentré tard et Soizic a mis du temps à préparer les moules."

Grand-père : "Elle ne mange pas avec toi ?"

Loïck : "Non, elle avait déjà mangé, comme ça je suis bien tranquille et nous pouvons parler sans être dérangés."

Granddad : "I didn't know you were having lunch, you're eating rather late."

Loïck : "I came home late and Soizic took her time to cook the musssels."

Granddad : "Isn't she eating with you?"

Loïck : "No, she'd already eaten, that way I'm at peace and we can talk without being disturbed."

Grand-père : "Tu es un peu dur avec elle. Tu bois du Coca avec les moules maintenant ?"

Loïck : "Et oui, mais pas tout le temps. Tu disais que je suis dur avec Soizic, mais si je te dis qu'elle ne veut pas que je boive trop de vin, tu ne trouves pas qu'elle exagère. Alors je bois du coca pour l'agacer."

Grand-père : "Toi et Soizic, c'est quelque chose, vous ne changerez jamais."

Loïck : "Trêve de plaisanterie, tu ne veux pas manger des moules avec moi ?"

Granddad : "You're a bit hard on her. Are you drinking coke with your mussels now?"

Loïck : "Yes, but not all the time. You said that I'm hard on Soizic, but if I tell you she doesn't want me to drink too much wine, don't you think she's overreacting. So I drink Coke to annoy her."

Granddad : "You and Soizic, it's quite something, you'll never change."

Loïck : "Joking apart, don't you want to eat mussels with me?"

Grand-père : "Non merci, j'ai déjà mangé."

Loïck : "Tu es sûr ? Regarde, il y en a encore plein et tu sais que les moules de Soizic sont exceptionnelles et ses frites aussi."

Grand-père : "Ah, là tu es capable de reconnaître une de ses qualités. Mais non, merci. Tu sais qu'avec Solange les repas ne sont pas toujours vraiment légers."

Loïck : "Et tu ne vas pas t'en plaindre, je te connais, tu aimes bien manger."

Granddad : "No, thank you, I've already eaten."

Loïck : "Are you sure? Look, there's still plenty left and you know that Soizic's mussels are exceptional and her chips too."

Granddad : "Ah, now you can recognize one of her qualities. But no, thank you. you know that with Solange meals aren't always really light." 

Loïck : "And you won't complain about it, I know you, you love your food."

Grand-père : "Ah, ah, ah ! C'est bien pour ça que je promène le chien, pour digérer."

Loïck : "Ah, ah, ah !"

Colin : "Il y a des gens qui ont l'air de bien s'amuser."

Colin : "J'entends un chien, je me demande qui est là."

Colin : "Some people seem to be having a good time."

Grand-père : "Tiens, voilà le petit Colin. Qu'est ce que tu fais là ?"

Loïck : "Il a dû sentir les moules frites. Ah, ah !"

Colin : "Je ramasse des coquillages. Je vous ai entendu rire et aussi Calinou."

Loïck : "Tu peux ouvrir la barrière. Tu veux goûter les moules ?"

Granddad : "Look, here's little Colin. What are you doing here?"

Loïck : "He must have smelt the mussels and chips. Ah, ah!"

Colin : "I'm collecting shells. I heard you laughing and Cuddly too."

Loïck : "You can open the gate. Would you like some mussels?"

Colin : "Non merci, j'aime pas trop les moules, je préfère les crevettes."

Loïck : "Voilà autre chose, il aime pas trop les moules. Ben, personne ne veut de mes moules."

Grand-père : "Ne le dis pas à Soizic, elle pourrait le prendre mal. Colin, qu'est ce que tu vas faire pendant les vacances ?"

Colin : "Je voudrais bien faire du bateau."

Colin : "No, thank you, I don't really fancy mussels, I prefer prawns."

Loïck : "That's all we need!; he doesn't fancy mussels. Well, nobody seems to want my mussels."

Granddad : "Don't tell Soizic, she might take it badly. Colin, what are you going to do during the holiday?"

Colin : "I'd like to go sailing."

Loïck : "Tu ne voudrais pas plutôt aller pêcher des moules avec moi ? Ah, ah, ah"

Colin : "Pourquoi faire ? Je ne les mangerai pas."

Grand-père : "Tu pourrais les donner à Loïck ou à moi."

Colin : "Calinou, ils se moquent de moi."

Grand-père : "On te taquine et tu connais l'humour de Loïck."

Loïck : "Wouldn't you rather go fishing for mussels with me? Ah, ah, ah!"

Colin : "What for? I'm not going to eat them."

Granddad : "You could give them to Loïck or me."

Colin : "Cuddly, they're making fun of me."

Granddad : "We're just teasing you and you know Loïck's sense of humour."

Colin : " Je sais et je m'en fiche. Je vais continuer à chercher des coquillages."

Grand-père : " Il faut que je rentre, j'y vais Loïck. Bon appétit !"

Colin : "Je vais vous accompagner, j'aime bien Calinou."

Loïck : "Au revoir Charles et à bientôt pour manger des moules avec moi. Au revoir Colin et si tu veux des crevettes vient me voir."

Colin : "D'accord et merci Loïck, mais je peux les pêcher moi même. Et je vous en apporterai."

Loïck : "Il n'en rate pas une ce petit bonhomme."

Colin : "I know and I don't care. I'm going to carry on looking for shells."

Granddad : "I've got to go home, I'm off, Loïck. Enjoy your mussels!"

Colin : "I'll come with you, I quite like Cuddly."

Loïck : "Bye, Charles and see you soon to eat mussels with me. Bye, Colin and if you want some prawns come and see me."

Colin : "Ok and thank you Loïck, but I can fish for them myself. And I'll bring you some."

Nina : "Alors, Mamie, tout est prêt ?"
Mamie : "Oui, presque. Mais regarde ta sœur, qu'est ce qu'elle fait ?"

Nina : "Pourquoi tu dis presque ?"

Mamie : "Parce qu'on a pas encore la fougasse. Lucie, ne touche à rien, s'il te plaît."

Nina : "So, Grandma, is everything ready?"

Grandma : "Yes, almost. But look at your sister, what's she doing?"

Nina : "why do you say almost?"

Grandma : "Because we haven't got the focaccia yet. Lucie, don't touch anything, please."

Lucie : "Mais je ne touche pas je regarde. Le melon confit est trop beau."

Nina : "Oh, je me vois, c'est comme un miroir."

Mamie : "C'est là que je poserai la fougasse."

Nina : "Mais elle est où cette fougasse ?"

Lucie : "But I don't touch I'm just looking. The candied melon is too beautiful."

Nina : "Non, j'ai pas envie de sortir, je reste avec Mamie."

Félicie : "Ils sont dans leur maison, la chèvre est une petite coquine et voulait me suivre."

Félicie : "That's nice, I bet it was Solange's idea."

Granddad : "Absolutely, you know her well and Lucie was getting bored so a walk was welcome."

Lucie : "Hello goat. I knew I would see your animals. Where are the others?"

Félicie : "They're in their house, the goat is a little rascal and wanted to follow me."

Grand-père : "Allons-y, Solange et Nina nous attendent."

Lucie : "Mamie t'attend et surtout ta fougasse."

Grand-père : "Enfin Lucie, on ne dit pas des choses comme ça."

Félicie : "Ne t'inquiète pas Charles, ça me fait rire. Je suis sûre qu'elle attend la fougasse pour avoir les 13 desserts."

Granddad : "Let's go, Solange and Nina are waiting for us."

Lucie : "Grandma's waiting for you and especially your focaccia."

Granddad : "Really Lucie, you don't say things like that."

Félicie : "Don't worry Charles, it makes me laugh. I'm sure she's waiting for the focaccia to have the 13 desserts."

Nina : "Vous êtes enfin rentrés et avec la fougasse."

Grand-père : "Mais pourquoi tout le monde parle de cette fougasse, j'ai l'impression d'avoir un trésor dans ce panier."

Nina : "Tiens il y a aussi une boîte de calissons, mais il y en a déjà sur la table."

Grand-père : "Bon, je fais quoi avec ce panier maintenant ?"

Nina : "You're back at last and with the focacia."

Granddad : "But why everyone is talking about this focaccia, I feel like I've got a treasure in this basket."

Nina : "There's also a box of calissons, but there are already some on the table."

Granddad : "Well, what do I do with this basket now?"

Mamie : "Comment vas tu, Félicie?"

Félicie : "Très bien, merci. Je suis contente d'être avec vous. Et toi ?"

Mamie : "Très bien aussi. Merci beaucoup pour la fougasse, tout est prêt pour passer une bonne soirée ensemble."

Félicie : "J'ai aussi apporté des calissons pour les filles, elles les emporteront chez elles."

Mamie : "Merci pour elles, c'est trop gentil."

Lucie : "Quand est ce que l'on mange ? J'ai faim."

Grandma : "How are you, Félicie?"

Félicie : "Very well, thank you. I'm happy to be with you. And you?"

Grandma : "Very well too. Thanks a lot for the focaccia, everything's ready for a great evening together."

Félicie : "I also brought some calissons for the girls, they'll take them home."

Grandma : "Thank you for them, you're too kind."

Lucie : "When are we going to eat? I'm hungry."

Nina : "Grand-père, on est rentrées."

Grand-père : "Je vous ai entendues, alors vous avez trouvé tout ce que vous vouliez ?"

Nina : "Oui. Viens, on va te montrer."

Grand-père : "Très bien, je pose mon livre et mon chapeau."

Nina : "Granddad, we're back."

Granddad : "I heard you, so did you find eveverything you wanted?"

Nina : "Yes, we did. Come on, we'll show you."

Granddad : "Very well, I put down my book and hat."

Grand-père : "Je me demande bien pourquoi leur mère n'a pas acheté les fournitures scolaires, les filles devront les rapporter chez elles."

Mamie : "Mais tu sais bien qu'elle vont retourner chez elles juste avant la rentrée, leur mère aura bien d'autres choses à faire."

Nina : "Si maman les avait achetées sans nous on aurait pas pu choisir."

Mamie : "Bon, je vais à la cuisine, elles vont te montrer."

Granddad : "I wonder why their mother didn't buy their school supplies, the girls will have to take them home."

Grandma : "But you know that they'll go home just before going back to school, their mother will have a lot of other things to do."

Nina : "Parce qu'à l'école on fait de l'anglais et j'aime beaucoup. Et regarde mon cahier, j'adore. "

Grand-père : "Le drapeau est un peu fantaisiste, c'est original"

Lucie : "Look at my beautiful pink scissors and the folder with the heart."

Nina : "And as I love purple I've got a pen to match my folder."

Granddad : "Right, so the London diary is for you Nina. Why?"

Nina : "Because at school we learn English and I really like it. And look at my exercise book, I love it."

Granddad : "The flag is a bit fanciful, it's original."

Nina : "Tu sais avec la maîtresse on apprend plein de choses. What's your name?"

Grand-père : "My name's Charles."

Nina : " Mais tu parles anglais, Grand-père."

Grand-père : "Oui, un peu et toi Lucie ?"

Lucie : "Je sais Hello, mes ciseaux sont pink et j'ai un dog."

Nina : "You know with the teacher we learn a lot. What's your name?"

Granddad : "My name's Charles."

Nina : "But you speak English, Granddad."

Granddad : "Yes, a little and you Lucie?"

Lucie : "I know Hello, my scissors are pink and I've got a dog."

Grand-père : "Très bien Lucie. Alors on va pouvoir parler un peu anglais à la maison."

Nina : "Parce que Mamie parle aussi anglais ?"

Grand-père : "Oui, et bien mieux que moi." 

Nina : "Ca va Lucie ?"

Granddad : "Very good Lucie. Then we'll be able to speak a bit of English at home."

Nina : "Because Grandma also speaks English?"

Granddad : "Yes, she does, and even better than I do."

Nina : "Are you ok Lucie?"

Lucie : "J'ai pas envie qu'on parle anglais, je vais rien comprendre."

Grand-père : "Nous pourrons t'apprendre des mots et ne t'inquiète pas nous n'allons pas commencer tout de suite."

Nina : "Dommage parce que moi je veux vraiment parler anglais."

Lucie : "I don't want us to speak English, I won't understand anything."

Granddad : "We can teach you some words and don't worry we won't start right away."

Nina : "Too bad because I really want to speak English."

Lucie : "Doumi et Calinou eux n'ont pas besoin de parler anglais."

Nina : "Et ils n'ont pas besoin d'aller à l'école."

Grand-père : "Mais vous aimez aller à l'école ?"

Lucie : "J'aime bien parce que la maîtresse est gentille et je suis avec mon amie Pauline."

Lucie : "Softy and Cuddly don't need to speak English."

Nina : "And they don't need to go to school."

Granddad : "But do you like going to school?"

Lucie : "I like it because the teacher is nice and I'm with my friend Pauline."

Grand-père : "Et toi Nina ?"

Nina : "Oui et non, ça dépend de ce qu'on fait. Et j'aime pas les devoirs."

Grand-père : "Je n'aimais pas trop les devoirs non plus, je préférais lire." 

Nina : "Tu as toujours aimé lire, alors ? Moi je préfère jouer plutôt que faire mes devoirs."

Lucie : "Tu sais, Grand-père, c'est pour ça que Maman souvent s'énerve après elle ."

Granddad : "And you Lucie?"

Nina : "Yes and no, it depends on what we do. And I don't like homework."

Granddad : "I didn't really like homework either, I preferred reading."

Nina : "So, you've always liked reading? I'd rather play than do my homework."

Lucie : "You know, Granddad, that's why Mum gets mad at her."

Mamie : "Le déjeuner est prêt"

Grand-père : "Il reste quelque chose dans le sac."

Nina : "C'est pour Fiona. Elle a dit à Mamie qu'elle voulait dessiner et peindre"

Grand-père : "Oui, je sais. Mamie a sorti sa mallette de peinture et ses pinceaux."

Lucie : "Pourquoi elle vient ?"

Grandma : "Lunch is ready."

Granddad : "There's something left in the bag."

Nina : "It's for Fiona. She told Grandma she wanted to draw and paint."

Granddad : "Yes, I know. Grandma's got her paint box and brushes out."

Lucie : "Why is she coming?" 

Grand-père : "Pour nous voir, mais surtout pour repartir avec vous."

Lucie : "Donc on sera dans le train avec elle."

Nina : "Mais tu le sais bien, on te l'a expliqué."

Grand-père : "C'est pour ça qu'elle vient toute seule sans Chloé. Je pense qu'avec vous deux dans le train c'est suffisant pour elle."

Mamie : "A table !"

Granddad : "To see us, but mainly to go back with you."

Lucie : "So we'll be on the train with her."

Nina : "But you know that, we explained it to you."

Granddad : "That's why she's coming on her own without Chloé. I think with the two of you on the train is enough for her."

Nina : "She may come out of the house. Don't speak so loudly, we're hidden by the sheets but we can be heard."
Lucie : "Your game isn't funny, look at Granddad."

Nina : "Il dort, il va bien finir par se réveiller."
Lucie : "Si c'est long j'ai pas envie d'attendre. Je peux faire du bruit pour le réveiller."
Nina : "Très mauvaise idée, il saura qu'on est là. Zut ! Qu'est ce qu'on va faire ?" 

Nina : "He's sleeping, he's going to wake up eventually."

Lucie : "If it takes a long time I don't want to wait. I can make some noise to wake him up."

Nina : "Very bad idea, he'll know we're here. Heck! What are we going to do?"

Lucie : "Ha ha, je sais et ça va être drôle."
Nina : "C'est quoi ton idée?"
Lucie : "Prendre le chapeau de Grand-père sans le réveiller."

Grand-père : "Hum, qu'est ce qu'il y a ?"

Grand-père : "Non pas du tout et les filles doivent être dans le jardin."

Grandma : "Charles, where are the girls?"

Grandma : "But you were sleeping, where are the girls? and why aren't you wearing your hat?"

Granddad : "Not at all and the girls must be in the garden."

Nina : "Lucie, qu'est ce que tu fais ? Ne te montre pas, maintenant on peut les espionner."

Lucie : "J'ai plus envie. Mamie a son sac de courses et je veux aller avec elle."

Nina : "Tu n'es qu'une dégonflée."

Lucie : "Mamie je suis là et Nina m'a traitée de dégonflée."

Lucie : "Grandma I'm here and Nina called me a wimp."

Mamie : "Lucie, qu'est ce que tu fais avec le chapeau de Grand-père ?"

Lucie : "Grand-père dormait alors il avait pas besoin de son chapeau."

Mamie : "Ah, Charles, tu as été trahi, donc tu dormais bien."

Grand-père : "J'ai dû m'assoupir un petit instant."

Mamie : "Je vais sortir et si tu restes dans le jardin remets ton chapeau. Allez les filles, venez avec moi."

Mamie : "Lucie, what are you doing with Granddad's hat?"

Lucie : "Granddad was asleep so he didn't need his hat."

Grandma : "Ah, Charles, you were betrayed, so you were sleeping."

Granddad : "I must have dozed off for a while."

Grandma : "I'm going out and if you stay in the garden put your hat back on. Come on girls, come with me."

Nina : "D'accord ! Tiens Grand-père, voilà ton chapeau. Tu sais quand tu dormais tu ronflais."

Grand-père : "Tu vas pas t'y mettre toi aussi."

Nina : "C'est pas grave Papa ronfle aussi.

Grand-père : "Alors, selon toi tout va bien."

Nina : "Ok! Here Granddad, here's your hat. You know when you were sleeping you were snoring."

Granddad : "You're not going to get started too."

Nina : "It's all right, Dad snores too."

Granddad : "So, according to you everything's fine."

Mamie : "Charles, nous allons te laisser tranquille."

Charles : "Où vas tu avec les filles ?"

Mamie : "Faire les courses et acheter des fournitures scolaires, leur maman m'a donné une petite liste."

Charles : "Très bien. A tout à l'heure."

Mamie : "Nina, tu viens ? On t'attend."

Grandma : "Charles, we'll leave you alone."

Charles : "Where are you going with the girls?"

Grandma : "Shopping and buying school supplies, their mother gave me a short list."

Charles : "Very well. See you later."

Grandma : "Nina, are you coming? We're waiting for you."

Lucie : "Mamie, je pourrais choisir ce que je veux comme agenda ?"

Mamie : "Oui, en fonction de ce que l'on va trouver."

Nina : "Grand-père, tu vas pas t'ennuyer ?"

Grand-père : "Pas du tout, je vais lire."

Nina : "Moi, je trouve ça ennuyeux de lire. J'arrive."

Lucie : "Grandma, can I choose what I want for my school diary?"

Grandma : "Yes, you can, depending on what we find."

Nina : "Granddad, Aren't you going to get bored?"

Granddad : "Not at all, I'm going to read."

Nina : "I think reading is boring. I'm coming."
