Loïck a sorti son solex et se prépare à aller délivrer ses fruits de mer à son ami restaurateur Gaël. Il se dit qu'avec les grandes vacances qui vont bientôt arriver il faudra qu'il augmente sa pêche, surtout de moules. Les touristes sont friands de moules marinières.

Loïck has got his moped out and is getting ready to deliver his seafood to his friend Gaël, a restaurant owner. He is thinking that with the summer holiday coming soon he will have to increase his fishing, especially mussels. Tourists are fond of mussels marinières.

Grande mouette : "Allez, Loïck, dépêche toi de poser ton cageot."

Petite mouette : "Tu as raison, j'ai faim. Dès qu'il s'éloigne je vais profiter de ces bonnes choses."

Grande mouette : "Tais toi et n'ose pas manger quoi que ce soit."

Petite mouette : "Alors pourquoi tu lui dis de se dépêcher ? Je ne te comprends pas. On est bien là pour en profiter, non ?"

Loïck : "Dis donc les mouettes vous êtes bien bavardes. N'osez pas vous approcher de mon cageot."

Big seagull : "Come on, Loïck, hurry up and put your crate down."

Little seagull : "You're right, I'm hungry. As soon as he gets away I'm going to enjoy these tasty things."

Big seagull : "Shut up and don't you even dare eat a thing."

Little seagull : "So why are you telling him to hurry up? I don't understand you. We're here to enjoy this, aren't we?"

Loïck : "Hey seagulls, you're real chatterboxes. Don't you dare go near my crate."

Grande mouette : "Mais Loïck, tu n'as pas entendu qu'aujourd'hui nous ne sommes pas intéressées par ta pêche."

Petite mouette : "Allez, réponds à ma question."

Grande mouette : "Parce que je veux qu'il parte pour que je puisse faire un tour en solex."

Petite mouette : "En voilà une drôle d'idée, tu es un peu bizarre."

Loïck : "C'est bon le cageot est bien stable. Ah, les mouettes vous n'arrêtez pas, quel boucan !" 

Big seagull : "But Loïck, didn't you hear that today we aren't interested in your fishing."

Little seagull : "Come on, answer my question."

Big seagull : "Because I want him to leave so I can have a ride on his moped."

Little seagull : "What a strange idea, you're a bit odd."

Loïck : "It's ok, the crate is steady. Ah, you the seagulls never stop, what a racket!"

Loïck : "La mouette, du balai !"

Grande mouette : "Certainement pas ! Je reste, je veux mon tour en solex."

Petite mouette : "Moi, je m'en vais. Je vais aller chercher à manger. Amuse toi bien !"

Grande mouette : "Au revoir, à plus tard. Allez, Loïck, qu'est ce que tu attends ?"

Loïck : "Ouste, la mouette ! Du vent !"

Loïck : "Clear off, seagull!"

Big seagull : "No way! I'm staying, I want my ride on the moped."

Little seagull : "I'm off. I'm going to look for some food. Have fun!"

Big seagull : "Bye, see you later. Come on, Loïck, what are you waiting for?"

Loïck : "Shoo, seagull! Off with you!"

Loïck : "Mais c'est qu'elle ne veut pas partir. J'ai jamais vu ça, quel pot de colle !  Tant pis, je vais avoir une copilote."

Grande mouette : "Oh, oui, une copilote, j'adore."

Loïck : "Bon, il faut que j'y aille sinon je vais être en retard et Gaël n'aura pas le temps de discuter avec moi autour d'un verre."

Grande mouette : "Allez, c'est parti ! Tu vas avoir de la classe, mon cher Loïck, avec moi sur ton solex. Et à moi, la vitesse et les plumes au vent !"

Loïck : "But it just won't leave. I've never seen anything like that, what a leech! Never mind, I'll just have a navigator."

Big seagull : "Oh, yes, a navigator, I love it."

Loïck : "Right, I've got to go otherwise I'll be late and Gaël won't have time to chat with me over a drink."

Big seagull : "Come on, let's go! You'll be stylish, my dear Loïck, with me on your moped. And to me speed and feathers in the wind."

Loïck : "Bonjour, Charles. Il y a un moment que je ne t'ai pas vu."

Grand-père : "Tu es rarement dans ton jardin quand je promène le chien."

Loïck : "Allez, viens qu'on discute un peu."

Grand-père : "D'accord, je ne suis pas pressé."

Loïck : "Hello, Charles. I haven't seen you for a while."

Granddad : "You're rarely in your garden when I walk the dog."

Loïck : "Come on, let's have a chat."

Granddad : "All right, I'm not in a hurry."

Grand-père : "Je ne savais pas que tu étais en train de déjeuner, tu manges bien tard."

Loïck : "Je suis rentré tard et Soizic a mis du temps à préparer les moules."

Grand-père : "Elle ne mange pas avec toi ?"

Loïck : "Non, elle avait déjà mangé, comme ça je suis bien tranquille et nous pouvons parler sans être dérangés."

Granddad : "I didn't know you were having lunch, you're eating rather late."

Loïck : "I came home late and Soizic took her time to cook the musssels."

Granddad : "Isn't she eating with you?"

Loïck : "No, she'd already eaten, that way I'm at peace and we can talk without being disturbed."

Grand-père : "Tu es un peu dur avec elle. Tu bois du Coca avec les moules maintenant ?"

Loïck : "Et oui, mais pas tout le temps. Tu disais que je suis dur avec Soizic, mais si je te dis qu'elle ne veut pas que je boive trop de vin, tu ne trouves pas qu'elle exagère. Alors je bois du coca pour l'agacer."

Grand-père : "Toi et Soizic, c'est quelque chose, vous ne changerez jamais."

Loïck : "Trêve de plaisanterie, tu ne veux pas manger des moules avec moi ?"

Granddad : "You're a bit hard on her. Are you drinking coke with your mussels now?"

Loïck : "Yes, but not all the time. You said that I'm hard on Soizic, but if I tell you she doesn't want me to drink too much wine, don't you think she's overreacting. So I drink Coke to annoy her."

Granddad : "You and Soizic, it's quite something, you'll never change."

Loïck : "Joking apart, don't you want to eat mussels with me?"

Grand-père : "Non merci, j'ai déjà mangé."

Loïck : "Tu es sûr ? Regarde, il y en a encore plein et tu sais que les moules de Soizic sont exceptionnelles et ses frites aussi."

Grand-père : "Ah, là tu es capable de reconnaître une de ses qualités. Mais non, merci. Tu sais qu'avec Solange les repas ne sont pas toujours vraiment légers."

Loïck : "Et tu ne vas pas t'en plaindre, je te connais, tu aimes bien manger."

Granddad : "No, thank you, I've already eaten."

Loïck : "Are you sure? Look, there's still plenty left and you know that Soizic's mussels are exceptional and her chips too."

Granddad : "Ah, now you can recognize one of her qualities. But no, thank you. you know that with Solange meals aren't always really light." 

Loïck : "And you won't complain about it, I know you, you love your food."

Grand-père : "Ah, ah, ah ! C'est bien pour ça que je promène le chien, pour digérer."

Loïck : "Ah, ah, ah !"

Colin : "Il y a des gens qui ont l'air de bien s'amuser."

Calinou : "Wouah, wouah, wouah."

Colin : "J'entends un chien, je me demande qui est là."

Granddad : "Ah, ah, ah ! That's exactly why I walk the dog, to digest."

Loïck : Ah, ah, ah !"

Colin : "Some people seem to be having a good time."

Calinou : "Woof, woof, woof."

Colin : "I can hear a dog, I wonder who's there."

 

Grand-père : "Tiens, voilà le petit Colin. Qu'est ce que tu fais là ?"

Loïck : "Il a dû sentir les moules frites. Ah, ah !"

Colin : "Je ramasse des coquillages. Je vous ai entendu rire et aussi Calinou."

Loïck : "Tu peux ouvrir la barrière. Tu veux goûter les moules ?"

Granddad : "Look, here's little Colin. What are you doing here?"

Loïck : "He must have smelt the mussels and chips. Ah, ah!"

Colin : "I'm collecting shells. I heard you laughing and Cuddly too."

Loïck : "You can open the gate. Would you like some mussels?"

Colin : "Non merci, j'aime pas trop les moules, je préfère les crevettes."

Loïck : "Voilà autre chose, il aime pas trop les moules. Ben, personne ne veut de mes moules."

Grand-père : "Ne le dis pas à Soizic, elle pourrait le prendre mal. Colin, qu'est ce que tu vas faire pendant les vacances ?"

Colin : "Je voudrais bien faire du bateau."

Colin : "No, thank you, I don't really fancy mussels, I prefer prawns."

Loïck : "That's all we need!; he doesn't fancy mussels. Well, nobody seems to want my mussels."

Granddad : "Don't tell Soizic, she might take it badly. Colin, what are you going to do during the holiday?"

Colin : "I'd like to go sailing."

Loïck : "Tu ne voudrais pas plutôt aller pêcher des moules avec moi ? Ah, ah, ah"

Colin : "Pourquoi faire ? Je ne les mangerai pas."

Grand-père : "Tu pourrais les donner à Loïck ou à moi."

Colin : "Calinou, ils se moquent de moi."

Grand-père : "On te taquine et tu connais l'humour de Loïck."

Loïck : "Wouldn't you rather go fishing for mussels with me? Ah, ah, ah!"

Colin : "What for? I'm not going to eat them."

Granddad : "You could give them to Loïck or me."

Colin : "Cuddly, they're making fun of me."

Granddad : "We're just teasing you and you know Loïck's sense of humour."

Colin : " Je sais et je m'en fiche. Je vais continuer à chercher des coquillages."

Grand-père : " Il faut que je rentre, j'y vais Loïck. Bon appétit !"

Colin : "Je vais vous accompagner, j'aime bien Calinou."

Loïck : "Au revoir Charles et à bientôt pour manger des moules avec moi. Au revoir Colin et si tu veux des crevettes vient me voir."

Colin : "D'accord et merci Loïck, mais je peux les pêcher moi même. Et je vous en apporterai."

Loïck : "Il n'en rate pas une ce petit bonhomme."

Colin : "I know and I don't care. I'm going to carry on looking for shells."

Granddad : "I've got to go home, I'm off, Loïck. Enjoy your mussels!"

Colin : "I'll come with you, I quite like Cuddly."

Loïck : "Bye, Charles and see you soon to eat mussels with me. Bye, Colin and if you want some prawns come and see me."

Colin : "Ok and thank you Loïck, but I can fish for them myself. And I'll bring you some."

Loïck : "That little lad's always putting his foot in it."

le quotidien de Loïck - Loïck's daily life

Comme presque tous les jours Loïck vient de rentrer de la pêche. Il se dit que son travail n'est pas fini, il doit maintenant vider son filet. La routine est parfois lassante car ce qu'il préfère dans la pêche est être seul en mer.

Like almost every day Loïck has just come back from fishing. He tells himself that his work isn't done yet, he now has to empty his net. The routine can sometimes be tiresome, because what he likes most about fishing is being alone at sea.

Les poissons sont triés, alors les mouettes arrivent. Plein de bonnes choses attirantes pour elles. Loïck doit se dépêcher de mettre ses cageots en sécurité. Ah, ces mouettes qui ne le laissent pas tranquille, mais ils les aiment bien quand même, et que serait la mer sans les mouettes ? 

The fish have been sorted out, so the seagulls arrive. Plenty of  tasty things to attract  them. Loïck has to hurry to put his crates in a safe place. Ah, those seagulls that won't leave him alone, but he likes them anyway, and what would the sea be without seagulls?

Loïck aimerait bien savoir ce que cette mouette est en train de dire. Elle appelle probablement ses amies, comme s'il n'y avait déjà pas assez de mouettes autour de lui. Il lui dit de ne pas oser prendre quelque chose dans son cageot.

Loïck would like to know what this seagull is saying. It is probably calling its friends, as if there were not enough seagulls around him already. He tells it not to dare take anything from his crate.

Loïck espère qu'il va vendre ses poissons. S'il en reste un ou deux sa femme les cuisinera, mais s'il en rapporte plus à la maison elle rouspètera comme d'habitude. Il trouve que parfois elle exagère, elle pourrait être contente d'avoir du poisson gratuit, mais il reconnait que ce serait mieux de vendre tous ses poissons. 

Loïck hopes that he will sell his fish. If there is one or two left his wife will cook them, but if he brings more home she will grumble. He thinks she sometimes exaggerates, she could be happy to have free fish, but he admits it would be better to sell all his fish.

 

Comme souvent Loïck pense qu'il prendrait bien sa retraite, l'âge se fait sentir de plus en plus, mais que ferait il à la maison toute la journée ? Et puis il aime aller en mer et s'occuper de son bateau. Bien sûr on peut être en mer sans pêcher néanmoins ce ne serait pas pareil.

As often Loïck thinks he would like to retire, as he is feeling his age more and more, but what would he do at home all day? And then he loves going out to sea and looking after his boat. Of course, you can be at sea without fishing neverthesess that wouldn't be the same.

Pendant que Loïck est parti ranger son premier cageot une mouette peut maintenant inspecter le filet. Les mouettes sont toujours à la recherche de nourriture, sans s'occuper de savoir à qui c'est, tout est bon à prendre.

While Loïck has gone to put away his first crate a seagull can now inspect the net. Seagulls are always looking for food, without caring whose it is, anything goes.

La grosse mouette demande à sa congénère si elle voit quelque chose d'intéressant dans le filet. Malheureusement, il n'y a plus rien. Alors toutes les deux espèrent que quelqu'un aura laissé quelque chose sur la plage, même si c'est beaucoup plus rare maintenant que des poubelles ont été installées.

The big seagull asks its fellow seagull if it sees anything interesting in the net. Unfortunately, there is nothing left. so both of them hope that someone will have left something on the beach, even though this is much rarer now that litter bins have been installed.

Alors que Loïck revient pour nettoyer et plier son filet les mouettes se sont envolées. Il commence à être fatigué, vivement un bon repas et un peu de repos à la maison. Et demain, s'il n'y a pas de tempête, la routine sera la même qu'aujourd'hui.

As Loïck is back to clean and fold his net the seagulls have flown away. He is starting to get tired and is looking forward to a good meal and some rest at home. And tomorrow if it isn't stormy the routine will be the same as today.

une promenade avec grand-père (épisode 4 Colin) - a walk with granddad (part 4 Colin)

Lucie : "Coucou Colin. Tu es tout seul."
Colin : "Oui, Pourquoi ?"
Lucie : "Nos grand-parents et nos parents ne veulent pas que l'on se promène toutes seules, sauf pour Fiona parce qu'elle est plus grande."
Colin : "Moi mes parents ça ne les gêne pas."
Lucie : "Tu as de la chance."

Lucie : "Hello Colin. You're alone."
Colin : "Yes, I am. Why?
Lucie : "Our grandparents and our parents don't want us to go out alone except for Fiona because she's older."
Colin : "My parents don't mind."
Lucie : "You're lucky."

Lucie : "Il est beau ton bateau."
Colin : "C'est moi qui l’ai fait."
Lucie : "Waouh ! Tu es doué."
Colin : "Je l'ai fait avec un bout de bois que j'ai trouvé en me promenant, mais bon mon père m'a aidé un peu."
Lucie : "Tu vas jouer avec."

Lucie : "Your boat is great."
Colin : "I made it myself."
Lucie : "Waouh! You're good."
Colin : "I made it with a piece of wood while walking, but well my dad helped me a bit."
Lucie : "You're going to play with it."

Colin : "Non, aujourd'hui je veux le montrer à Loïck."
Lucie : "Tu connais Loïck, c'est l'ami de Grand-père."
Colin : "Bien sur que je le connais. Elle est où Nina ?"
Lucie : "A la maison. Tu veux venir jouer avec elle ? En plus Mamie a fait des madeleines."
Colin : "Oh oui, je pourrai lui montrer mon bateau et j'adore les madeleines."
Lucie : "Je vais demander à Mamie."
Colin : "D'accord, je vais aller voir Loïck."

Colin : "No, I'm not, today I want to show it to Loïck."
Lucie : "You know Loïck. He's Granddad's friend."
Colin : "Of course I know him. Where is Nina?"
Lucie : "At home. Do you want to come and play with her? And on top of that Grandma made some madeleines."
Colin : "Oh yes, I'll be able to show her my boat and I love madeleines."
Lucie : "I'll ask Grandma." 
Colin : "Ok, I'll go and see Loïck."

Lucie : "Mamie, est ce que Colin peut venir à la maison avec nous, s'il te plaît ?"
Mamie : "C'est une bonne idée, mais peut-être qu'il a prévu autre chose."
Lucie : "Quand je lui ai demandé il m'a dit que ça lui plairait et qu'il aime les madeleines."
Mamie : "Je parie que c'est toi qui lui a parlé des madeleines. Il a l'air gourmand. J'aurais dû en faire plus."
Lucie : "Ben oui, tes madeleines sont trop bonnes."

Lucie : "Grandma, can Colin come to the house with us, please?"
Grandma : "That's a good idea, but he may have planned something else."
Lucie : "When I asked him he told me he would enjoy it and he loves madeleine."
Grandma : "I guess you told him about the madeleines. He sounds greedy. I should have made more."
Lucie : "Well yes I did, your madeleines are too delicious."

Mamie : "Il faudra demander à ses parents."

Lucie : "Ce n'est pas la peine il dit qu'il fait ce qu'il veut."

Mamie : "C'est peut-être ce qu'il dit mais ça reste à voir."

Colin : "Coucou Loïck."

Loïck : "Bonjour Colin. qu'est ce que tu fais là ?"

Grandma : "We'll have to ask his parents."

Lucie : "No need to do it he says he does what he wants."

Grandma : "It may be what he says but we'll see about that."

Colin : "Hello Loïck."

Loïck : "Hello Colin. What are you doing here?"

Colin : "Je veux te montrer mon bateau."

Loïck : "Il est rigolo, mais je ne suis pas sûr qu'il flotte."

Colin : "J'en sais rien et je m'en fiche, je voulais juste faire un bateau."

Loïck : "A quoi bon avoir un bateau s'il ne flotte pas ?"

Colin : "J'ai quelque chose à te demander."

Colin : "I want to show you my boat."

Loïck : "It's funny, but I'm not sure it can float."

Colin : "I don't know and I don't care, I just wanted to make a boat."

Loïk : "What's the point of having a boat if it can't float?"

Colin : "I want to ask you something."

Loïck : "Qu'est ce que tu veux ?"
Colin : "J'aimerais bien aller pêcher avec toi."
Loïck : "Ben en voilà une drôle d'idée."
Colin : "Pourquoi ? S'il te plaît, je pourrais t'aider."
Loïck : "J'en doute et puis il faudrait voir ça avec tes parents. Et là il y a Solange qui veut du poisson."
Colin : "D'accord, mais n'oublie pas."

Loïck : "What do you want?"
Colin : "I'd like to go fishing with you."
Loïck : "Well what a strange idea."
Colin : "Why? Please, I could help you."
Loïck : "I doubt it and besides I would have to talk about it with your parents. And now Solange wants some fish."
Colin : "Ok, but don't forget it."

Mamie : "Colin c'est un phénomène. Bon, qu'est ce que je vais prendre pour le dîner."
Loïck : "Il y a l'embarras du choix et il y a aussi des crevettes et des moules."
Mamie : "Pas de fruits de mer aujourd'hui, juste du poisson. Charles, qu'est ce que tu voudrais ?"

Grandma : "Colin is a character. Well, what am I going to take for dinner?"
Loïck : "You have a very wide choice and there are also some shrimps and mussels."
Grandma : "No seafood today, just fish. Charles, What would you like?

Grand-père : "Si on prenait de la sole ?"
Mamie : "Pourquoi pas? Mais tu n'aimerais pas mieux des maquereaux ?"
Grand-père : "Solange prends des maquereaux si tu en as envie."
Loïck : "Alors Solange, tu as eu le dernier mot."
Mamie : "On est bien d'accord que des maquereaux c'est très bien, n'est ce pas Loïck ?"

Granddad : "What about some sole?"
Grandma : "Why not? But wouldn't you rather like some mackerel?"
Granddad : "Solange take some mackerel if that's what you want."
Loïck : "So Solange, you have the last word."
Grandma : "We agree that mackerel is very good, isn't it Loïck?"

Lucie : "Mamie veut bien que tu viennes mais avant il faut que l'on demande à tes parents."
Loïck : "Mais pourquoi tout le monde veut demander à mes parents ?"
Lucie : "Qui d'autre veut demander à tes parents ?"
Loïck : "Loïck."
Lucie : "Et pourquoi ? Tu veux aller chez lui ?"
Loïck : "Non, je veux aller pêcher avec lui."

Lucie : "Grandma is quite happy for you to come but before we have to ask your parents."
Loïck : "But why does everybody want to ask my parents?"
Lucie : "Who else wants to ask your parents?"
Colin : "Loïck."
Lucie : "And why? Do you want to go to his house."
Loïck : "No, I don't. I want to go fishing with him."

Mamie : "Merci Loïck, au revoir et bonne journée."
Loïck : "Au revoir Solange."
Grand-père : "Calinou viens, on y va."
Loïck : "Au revoir Charles et profite bien des madeleines."
Grand-père : "Oui, espérons qu'il y en aura assez. Au revoir Loïck et à demain."

Grandma : "Thank you Loïck, goodbye and have a good day."
Loïck : "Goodbye Solange."
Granddad : "Cuddly come on, we're going."
Loïck : "Goodbye Charles and enjoy the madeleines."
Granddad : "I will, let's hope there'll be enough. Goodbye Loïck and see you tomorrow."

Mamie : "On y va. Je ne veux pas laisser Fiona seule trop longtemps avec les autres."
Lucie : "Et moi j'ai faim, je veux manger tes madeleines. Et pour Colin ?"
Mamie : "On va passer chez lui pour demander à sa mère s'il peut venir avec nous."
Lucie : "Je suis sûre qu'elle sera d'accord."

Grandma : "Let's go. I don't want to leave Fiona alone with the others for too long."
Lucie : "And I'm hungry, I want to eat your madeleines. And what about Colin?
Grandma : "We'll go to his house to ask his mother if he can come with us."
Lucie : "I'm sure she'll agree."

Mamie : "Mais où est il ?"
Colin : "Loïck, tu n'oublies pas que je veux aller à la pêche avec toi."
Loïck : "Mon petit gars tu es un peu casse-pieds, on verra ça."
Mamie : "Colin, tu viens ?"
Colin : "J'arrive. Au revoir Loïck, je vais avec eux pour jouer avec Nina."
Loïck : "Au revoir, amuse toi bien."

Mamie : "But where is he?"
Colin : "Loïck, you won't forget that I want to go fishing with you."
Loïck : "My little boy you're a little bit of a pain in the neck, we'll see about it."
Colin : "I'm coming. Goodbye Loïck, I'm going with them to play with Nina."
Loïck : "Goodbye, have fun."

Colin : "Je suis là."

Mamie : "D'abord on va s'arrêter chez toi."

Colin : "Oh, ce n'est pas la peine."

Mamie : "Bien sur que si, il faut prévenir tes parents."

Colin : "D'accord. Merci, je serai content de jouer avec Nina."

Mamie : "Ce sera une bonne surprise pour elle."

Grandma : "First we'll stop at your place."

Mamie : "Of course we will, we have to tell your parents."

Lucie : "Quentin a l'air content de rentrer. Est ce qu'il mangera aussi des madeleines ?"
Mamie : "Non, il est trop petit et je lui donnerai autre chose."

Grand-père : "Solange, donne moi ton sac de courses."

Quentin : "ba, ba, ma, ma"

Grandma : "Thank you, you'll have well deserved your cup of tea."

Quentin : "ba, ba, ma, ma"

Granddad : "Have we got everybody now?"

Loïck : "Dis donc ta petite Lucie a bien eu peur avec la mouette. Quelle journée ! Plus tôt les mouettes m'ont énervé et les choses n'étaient pas simples pour toi à cause de Solange. Espérons que le reste de la journée sera meilleure."

Loïck : Well, your little Lucie was quite scared of the seagull. What a day! Earlier the seagulls made me angry and things weren't easy for you because of Solange. Let's hope the rest of the day will be better."

Grand-père : "Tu ne crois pas si bien dire ! Tu sais que je tiens beaucoup à ma tranquillité, remarque ce n'est pas toujours facile quand tous les petits-enfants sont ensemble. En tout cas aujourd'hui Solange a craqué et c'était le bazar à la maison."

Granddad : "You don't know how right you are! You know all I want is to be left in peace, mind you it isn't always easy when all the grandchildren are together. Anyway today Solange had had enough and it was a mess at home."

Quentin : "Ma, ma, ma, ma"
Mamie : "J'ai bien fait d'arriver, on parle de moi. Charles, je savais que je te trouverais avec Loïck. Bonjour Loïck."
Loïck : "Bonjour, Solange."

Quentin : "Ma, ma, ma, ma"
Grandma : "A good thing I've come, you're talking about me. Charles, I knew I would find you with Loïck. Hello, Loïck."
Loïck : "Hello Solange."

Quentin : "Ma, ma, ba, ba"

Lucie : "Coucou Mamie, Loïck m'a donné une étoile de mer." 

Mamie : "Tu en as de la chance."

Grand-père : "Où sont les autres ?"

Quentin : "Ma, ma, ba, ba"

Lucie : "Hello Grandma, Loïck gave me a starfish."

Grandma : "You're a lucky girl."

Granddad : "Where are the others?"

Grandma : "Fiona s'occupe d'elles, tout va bien."
Grand-père : "Et toi, ça va ?"
Mamie : "Ça va maintenant. Je suis désolée de t'avoir dérangé dans ta lecture."
Granddad : "Ne t'inquiète pas, j'ai passé un bon moment avec Lucie et Loïck."

Grandma : "Fiona's looking after them, everything is fine.
Granddad : "And you, how are you?"
Greandma : "I'm fine now. I'm sorry to have disturbed your reading."
Granddad : "Don't worry, I've had a great time with Lucie and Loïck."

Grand-père : "As tu pu faire tes madeleines ?"
Mamie : "Oui, quand tu es parti les filles se sont calmées et m'ont laissée tranquille. Et Fiona m'a bien aidé quand elle est rentrée. Et il y a des madeleines sans chocolat, Fiona a pensé à toi."
Grand-père : "Elle est gentille." 

Granddad : "Did you manage to make your madeleines?"
Grandma : "Yes, I did. When you left te girls calmed down and left me in peace. And Fiona was a great help when she came back. And there are some madeleines without chocolate, Fiona thought of you."
Grandddad : "She's a kind girl."

Fiona : " J'ai fini de dessiner. Tu fais des madeleines, super ! Mais où est tout le monde ?"
Mamie : "Grand-père est sorti avec Lucie, Quentin et son chien. Nina et Chloé sont en haut après m'avoir énervée, surtout ta sœur qui a été insolente."
Fiona : "Elles t'ont fait tourner en bourrique."

Fiona : "I'm done with my drawing. You're making madeleines, great! But where is everybody?"
Grandma : "Granddad has gone out with Lucie, Quentin and his dog. Nina and Chloe are upstairs after having made me angry, especially your sister who had been insolent."
Fiona : "They drove you up the wall."

Mamie : "Je ne te le fais pas dire !"
Fiona : "Je vais poser mes affaires et t'aider."
Mamie : "C'est gentil car je dois aller acheter du poisson. Ton aide sera plus utile que celle de Nina."
Fiona : "C'est pour ça qu'il y a un œuf cassé par terre. Qu'est ce que je peux faire ?"

Grandma : "Too true!"
Fiona : "I'll put my things down and help you."
Grandma : "That's nice because I must go and buy some fish. Your help will be more useful than Nina's."
Fiona : "That's why there's a broken egg on the floor. What can I do?"

Mamie : "Tu peux sortir les madeleines du four. Je me demande si je dois aussi leur mettre du chocolat."
Fiona : "Peut-être pas la peine, cela va prendre du temps. Et Grand-père les préfère sans chocolat."
Mamie : "Tu as raison, surtout que j'ai été plutôt dur avec lui. Je garderai le chocolat pour autre chose."

Grandma : "You can take the madeleines out of the oven. I wonder if I should also put some chocolate on them."
Fiona : "Maybe you shouldn't, it will take time. And Granddad prefer them without chocolate."
Grandma : "You're right, especially as I was rather harsh with him. I'll keep the chocolate for something else."

Mamie : "Attention de ne pas te brûler."

Fiona : "Ne t'inquiète pas, je vais prendre un torchon."

Mamie : "Ça y est, les madeleines au chocolat sont prêtes."

Fiona : "Qu'est ce qu'il avait fait Grand-père ?"

Grandma : "Be careful not to burn yourself."

Fiona : "Don't worry, I'll take a cloth."

Grandma : "There, the chocolate madeleines are ready."

Fiona : "What did Granddad do?"

Mamie : "Rien de spécial, il lisait en haut et ne faisait rien alors que j'avais besoin de son aide. Tu connais ton grand-père et ça m'a énervée."
Fiona : "Je suis sûre que maintenant il est en train de discuter avec Loïck."
Mamie : "Je suis d'accord avec toi, des fois je me demande bien ce qu'ils peuvent bien se raconter."

Grandma : "Nothing much, he was reading upstairs and did nothing while I needed his help. You know your Granddad and it really got on my nerves."
Fiona : "I'm sure he is now talking with Loïck."
Grandma : "I agree with you, I sometimes wonder what they can tell each other."

Fiona : "Est ce que tu veux que je mette les madeleines dans une assiette ?"
Mamie : "On va d'abord les laisser refroidir. Je vais ranger avant de sortir."
Fiona : "Laisse, je vais le faire."

Fiona : "Do you want me to put the madeleines on a plate?"
Grandma : "Let them cool down first. I'll clear up before going out."
Fiona : "Leave it, I'll do it."

Mamie : "Merci Fiona, avec toi les choses sont faciles. Je suis désolée mais tu vas devoir t'occuper des filles. Si je n'avais pas dit à ton grand-père de sortir tu aurais pu venir avec moi."
Fiona : "Ça ne me gêne pas, on sortira ensemble un autre jour. De toutes façons je suis déjà sorti pour dessiner."

Grandma : "Thanks Fiona, things are easy with you. I'm sorry but you'll have to look after the girls. If I hadn't told your grandfather to go out you could have come with me."
Fiona : "I don't mind, we'll go out together another day. Anyway I've arlready been out to draw."

Quentin : "Ba, ba, in, in"
Mamie : "Loïck, j'ai besoin d'acheter du poisson. Montre moi ce que tu as."
Lucie : "Oh, regarder qui arrive."

Quentin : "Ba, ba, in, in"
Grandma : "Loïck, I need to buy some fish. Show me what you've got."
Lucie : Oh, look who is coming."
